Compare the whole dedicated node: GPU, memory, CPU, disks, network and responsibility for the software service. The server is not a ready language-model API.
Hetzner offers dedicated GPU servers in its GEX family. Teams operating their own models can compare renting a complete node with virtual instances and owned equipment. The host configuration and operating conditions matter alongside the accelerator.
The review is current to 1 November 2026. It explains selection from the official catalogue without a performance ranking or a fixed statement of rapidly changing prices.
Identify the complete resource
The GEX catalogue lists GPU servers with processors, RAM, storage and locations. Select a particular configuration. Older articles about individual models do not describe the entire current range.
For an LLM, establish VRAM and environment requirements first, then inspect the rest of the machine. System RAM does not replace model VRAM. Several GPUs require a separate check of how they work together; do not combine unlike resources into one number.
For example, the reviewed catalogue lists GEX45 with an RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF and 24 GB VRAM, and GEX430 with four RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q devices of 96 GB each. These illustrate different configurations, not inventory or universal model-suitability promises.
Separate recurring and one-off charges
Catalogue cards distinguish recurring rent and setup conditions. The Hetzner payment overview explains the general billing process. Check the applicable procedure for product, currency and payer details.
One-off expense can change a short experiment’s comparison. Long operation depends more on recurring components and cancellation. Do not divide an annual budget into months before deciding duration and acceptable commitments.
Separate infrastructure from serving
Receiving a dedicated machine does not deploy a model or provide requests. Environment installation, API, monitoring, updates and recovery remain. Assign software responsibility and the process for hardware questions.
Identify local-disk data and its off-node preservation, especially before reinstalling or ending rental. Full server control is useful only with an understandable change procedure.
Test the task on one node
A hypothetical small team needs a continuously available test model without distributed training. It selects one suitable server, pins versions and compares context profiles, measuring successful answers, latency and normal-restart recovery.
Before expansion, test the route to intended users and rules for the selected data. Discover unsuitable configurations in a bounded pilot. Catalogue availability does not confirm commercial demand for an API.
Compare rental with supplying your GPU
Here Hetzner supplies rented servers. The catalogue does not establish a private-card hosting programme. Existing-equipment owners should compare their conditions with a control node rather than seek card submission through a rental form.
