Technical and financial reports serve different purposes. Agree on metric definitions, reporting periods, time zones and reconciliation before commercial operation.
An owner shown only a final payment cannot easily understand equipment operation. A GPU utilization chart alone cannot establish the payment either. Reporting should connect technical events with payment rules while preserving their differences.
The following is a discussion list for a future agreement.
Define the accounting unit
State what is tracked: an individual card, server, dedicated group or service replica. Each resource needs a stable identifier and reporting period. Define the time zone and rounding rules.
Distinguishing physical resource from model is especially important. If a machine’s workload changes, reports must show it; otherwise periods cannot be compared.
Separate state from useful work
Useful measures include hardware availability, API readiness, successful and failed request counts, queues and agreed latency metrics. Record interruption causes separately: maintenance, network issues, software errors and hardware faults need different responses.
Average GPU utilization helps diagnosis but does not prove paid work. Workloads may be tests, retries or failures. Their treatment in payments depends on agreed rules.
Account for tokens consistently
Agree on counter sources, input/output separation, interrupted responses and adjustments. If an external platform is involved, determine which report governs final reconciliation.
Do not equate internal engine measurements with invoiced revenue without checking rules. Test traffic can also generate tokens without any commercial sale.
Show the payment calculation
The financial section should allow the total to be reproduced: accrual basis, agreed deductions, expenses, period and payment status. Revenue sharing needs a precise calculation base. Fixed rental needs accrual conditions during interruptions.
Error correction matters as much as the main report. Define a response window, responsible people and required evidence. Reconciliation should not require disclosing customer request content.
Test the report during the pilot
Create a trial export and check whether both parties understand the rows. If a metric cannot be explained unambiguously, clarify it before commercial launch.
