Easier creation on a phone changes how work begins; a deliberate review handoff preserves the evidence needed to accept the artifact before its audience or lifecycle expands.
The August Grok Build expansion makes creation available across web and mobile. Retrospectively, this changes more than device access: it separates the convenience of starting an idea from the conditions needed to inspect the artifact that idea produces.

Creation and inspection have different ergonomics
A short mobile instruction can initiate a substantial application, while reviewing its behavior may require navigating several states, checking data assumptions or comparing versions. Our interpretation is that easier creation increases the value of a clear handoff into review. It does not mean that every artifact requires a desktop or that mobile review is impossible. The relevant question is whether the chosen surface makes the evidence needed for acceptance available and understandable for the task at hand.
The handoff should preserve the artifact, not only the conversation
A later reviewer needs to know which version was created, what it was supposed to do and which checks have already occurred. Replaying a chat history may be a poor substitute for that bounded record. This is an architectural implication, not a claim that the release supplies or lacks a particular review feature. The source announcement establishes broader access and publication; a useful workflow still needs a relationship between the creation request, the reachable artifact and the acceptance evidence.
A counterfactual across review surfaces
Take the same generated app and ask reviewers to verify the same functional requirements on different surfaces. Observe missed states, unclear audience settings and ambiguity about the version being tested. The comparison can identify an interface constraint without attributing it to the generation model. It should also include small tasks that are easy to review on a phone, so the evaluation does not assume a universal device hierarchy. The purpose is to match the review method to the artifact’s actual complexity and consequences.
What the earlier history makes visible
The limited preview and earlier open harness show distinct steps before the broader consumer expansion. The August release reduces friction in beginning a workflow, while not validating every generated outcome. Infrastructure can preserve artifact identity and review state so work moves between devices without losing its meaning. The broader lesson is that accessible creation benefits from deliberate acceptance. A handoff is useful when it carries the result and its requirements into an inspectable state, rather than treating a successful first preview as the end of the application’s lifecycle.
