NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell Workstation Edition: 84GB and preliminary specifications

In this article
THE QUICK TAKE

84GB and up to600W remain preliminary published fields, without a production-availability assertion.

NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell Workstation Edition is assessed here as an exact Blackwell board configuration. Its published 84 GB capacity is the starting point for a workload qualification, not a measured serving or rendering result.

Exact model and memory variants

The announced84 GB Blackwell product has air cooling and an RXM liquid option. NVIDIA explicitly marks its specifications preliminary and the product Coming Soon.

Specifications: Official product/support documentation.

LLM backend and memory budget

Announced 84 GB Blackwell candidate. Hardware FP4 capability is not proof that a selected model, engine build or quantization kernel runs; record the exact released board and software before testing.

Passing the architecture requirement does not certify every model, quantization kernel or prebuilt package.

Compatibility evidence: vLLM GPU requirements.

Cycles and batch rendering

Announced RTX rendering candidate with separate air and RXM liquid integration paths. A renderer smoke test and system-level thermal validation are still needed.

Integration into a server or workstation

Prepare an evaluation specification, not a report of a deployed worker. The published limit is up to 600 W. RXM is a different integration form; recheck final documentation before installation.

A concrete qualification scenario

A lab drafts requirements for a future centralized workstation. Separate provisional product fields from observations that do not yet exist. Name the intended model artifact and reference scene, leaving run results unknown. When final specifications arrive, compare memory, thermal form and power definition; changed fields require a revised qualification procedure.

The evidence to retain

Keep an ordinary qualification record with the actual test outputs.

Identify the tested variant, software build and execution mode before entering observations. Leave unavailable measurements explicitly unknown.

The fields below separate published specifications from observed allocation and job completion, so a later operator can repeat the same case.

Evidence fieldWhat this profile must retain
Hardware identityNVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell Workstation Edition; physical variant and reported device identifier
Memory boundary84 GB published; observed free memory before and after loading
Inference artifactExact weights digest, quantization, context and offload configuration
Render artifactScene digest, renderer version, backend and denoising setting
System envelopeDriver, container/build digest, enclosure and cooling configuration
Completion evidenceApplication exit status, output validity and observed memory failures

An RXM liquid integration needs its own final mechanical documentation; provisional air-board information cannot establish that installation.
