24GB capacity and SFF thermal qualification answer different questions.
NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition is assessed here as an exact Blackwell board configuration. Its published 24 GB capacity is the starting point for a workload qualification, not a measured serving or rendering result.
Exact model and memory variants
The SFF4000 Blackwell offers24 GB in a 70 W low-profile dual-slot body. Low height does not mean a single-slot installation.
| Variant | Memory | Published board power | Cooling / format |
|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition | 24 GB GDDR7 ECC | 70 W | Active; 2.7 x 6.6 in; low-profile dual slot |
Specifications: Official product/support documentation.
LLM backend and memory budget
24 GB capacity in an SFF board can fit different quantized workloads than smaller low-profile cards, but capacity alone predicts neither prompt processing nor decoding rate.
Passing the architecture requirement does not certify every model, quantization kernel or prebuilt package.
Compatibility evidence: vLLM GPU requirements.
Cycles and batch rendering
RTX scene tests can use the 24 GB capacity; check enclosure intake and adjacent-slot clearance under the intended render duration.

Integration into a server or workstation
Use the actual low-profile bracket and reserve the second slot. Inspect the enclosure intake with its normal cover installed. A desktop open-bench result is not evidence for the same sustained behavior inside the small chassis.
A concrete qualification scenario
An office wants a compact overnight worker without changing its enclosure. Qualify the closed-case configuration using a small reference model first and then the intended context. Render a complete scene with normal system services present. Preserve cover state, adjacent-slot occupancy and free-memory baseline. If the task only completes with the lid removed, the closed-case setup has not passed the proposed qualification.
The evidence to retain
Keep an ordinary qualification record with the actual test outputs.
Identify the tested variant, software build and execution mode before entering observations. Leave unavailable measurements explicitly unknown.
The fields below separate published specifications from observed allocation and job completion, so a later operator can repeat the same case.
| Evidence field | What this profile must retain |
|---|---|
| Hardware identity | NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition; physical variant and reported device identifier |
| Memory boundary | 24 GB published; observed free memory before and after loading |
| Inference artifact | Exact weights digest, quantization, context and offload configuration |
| Render artifact | Scene digest, renderer version, backend and denoising setting |
| System envelope | Driver, container/build digest, enclosure and cooling configuration |
| Completion evidence | Application exit status, output validity and observed memory failures |
A low-profile bracket reduces height, but the second slot remains occupied; neighboring hardware must be included in the closed-case check.
