TheA prefix, architecture and 24GB capacity are essential parts of this5500 identity.
NVIDIA RTX A5500 is assessed here as an exact Ampere board configuration. Its published 24 GB capacity is the starting point for a workload qualification, not a measured serving or rendering result.
Exact model and memory variants
Ampere A5500 has24 GB GDDR6 ECC, 230 W and active dual-slot cooling. The announced Blackwell 5500 with 84 GB is a different product.
| Variant | Memory | Published board power | Cooling / format |
|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA RTX A5500 | 24 GB GDDR6 ECC | 230 W | Active; dual slot |

LLM backend and memory budget
For24 GB Ampere, fix the model, weight format and working context. Validate the required operation on this build rather than inferring it from the 5500 number shared with newer Blackwell.
Passing the architecture requirement does not certify every model, quantization kernel or prebuilt package.
Compatibility evidence: vLLM GPU requirements.
Cycles and batch rendering
Qualify supported RTX/OptiX batch rendering with the complete scene.24 GB does not automatically pool across NVLink boards even when the operating system detects the bridge.

Integration into a server or workstation
An existing A5500 workstation can become a dedicated worker only after inventory and cooling are recorded. Preserve its actual230 W product field and driver configuration. A future5500 replacement must receive a fresh record.
A concrete qualification scenario
A studio archives its workstation fleet before an upgrade. Label the current boardA5500 24 GB and qualify the saved inference artifact and production reference scene. Keep the old configuration immutable when comparing a future system. An upcoming84 GB product description must not rewrite the recorded capacity of the existing Ampere board or justify loading a larger artifact before a new qualification.
The evidence to retain
Keep an ordinary qualification record with the actual test outputs.
Identify the tested variant, software build and execution mode before entering observations. Leave unavailable measurements explicitly unknown.
The fields below separate published specifications from observed allocation and job completion, so a later operator can repeat the same case.
| Evidence field | What this profile must retain |
|---|---|
| Hardware identity | NVIDIA RTX A5500; physical variant and reported device identifier |
| Memory boundary | 24 GB published; observed free memory before and after loading |
| Inference artifact | Exact weights digest, quantization, context and offload configuration |
| Render artifact | Scene digest, renderer version, backend and denoising setting |
| System envelope | Driver, container/build digest, enclosure and cooling configuration |
| Completion evidence | Application exit status, output validity and observed memory failures |
An inventory refresh must not replace A5500 24 GB observations with announced550084 GB fields before the new physical configuration is tested.
