NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti for LLM inference and GPU rendering

In this article
THE QUICK TAKE

The RTX 5070 Ti has 16 GB versus 12 GB on the RTX 5070; evaluate capacity separately from backend performance.

Why Ti identifies a separate model

The RTX 5070 Ti has 16 GB GDDR7 and reference board power of 300 W, while the ordinary RTX 5070 has 12 GB and a different power specification. This is a separate model rather than merely a factory overclock of the same board. The Ti name nevertheless cannot establish generation or rendering speed. The table describes capacity per GPU. A purchased AIB card needs its own dimensional, cooling and power record. Start the server profile with identity and an idle baseline so additional memory is not later confused with a driver change or disconnected display.

Exercise inference with varying prompts

Choose an engine build appropriate for Blackwell. The vLLM requirements set CC 7.5 as a minimum but do not promise every quantization or attention implementation works. A practical RTX 5070 Ti corpus can examine one coding workload with varying history lengths and the same response format. Preserve tokenizer settings, output limits and concurrency. If a longer history fails, distinguish KV cache pressure from an unsupported operation. Lowering quantization quality is not automatically an acceptable solution: compare results on the same application task and record the chosen tradeoff in the manifest.

Examine two scene compositions

Blender Cycles offers CUDA and OptiX with their own driver and compute architecture requirements. On this card, test a scene with increased geometry separately from a version with heavier textures. Preserve the project, settings and resulting images. These are not universal benchmark scores; they reveal different uses of the 16 GB budget. When scene preparation dominates, investigate the host and assets rather than declaring RT Cores slow. Another renderer requires its own hardware and feature support list; a successful Cycles run does not automatically transfer to it.

Admit jobs using confirmed residency

A server worker should report the current memory owner as well as the RTX 5070 Ti identity. LLM weights may remain resident even while HTTP traffic is temporarily absent. Launch rendering after a normal resource handover, or as a separately examined coexistence mode. Record file loading duration, process RAM and GPU memory before and after each job. Assess thermals inside the actual chassis. Do not confuse the board’s 300 W specification with guaranteed constant draw or the entire rack limit, which also covers CPU, storage and server fans.

Build a role selection record

Combine coding corpus results and both scene versions into an artifact containing settings, versions, status, peak memory and errors. Follow the location of the limit. If inference fits but textures trigger host fallback, adjust render assets or the worker’s role. If scenes pass but long history fails, inspect the inference budget. Preserve observations before choosing separate queues or switching. The conclusion describes this RTX 5070 Ti on the examined files; it does not establish supported user counts, guarantee a particular LLM fit or prove superiority over every card with a smaller suffix.
