The RTX 3080 Ti has 12 GB; matching another SKU capacity does not replace exact identity and resident process accounting.
Do not collapse every 3080 into one record
The RTX 3080 Ti has 12 GB GDDR6X and reference board power of 350 W. The ordinary RTX 3080 has other memory variants, so omitting Ti is insufficient identification. Equal capacity does not make two GPUs identical. The table concerns one GPU rather than the remainder after allocations. Preserve AIB model, identity and baseline for the worker. Specified board power is not measured job energy or whole host draw. Check cooling and connectors for the actual installation rather than only the family label. Inventory should remain precise before any workload comparison begins.

Pin checkpoint and residency
Check vLLM requirements for the particular model, dtype and software release. Ampere clears the hardware floor while each quantization and kernel path needs confirmation. Choose a bounded request for the Ti and record memory after weight loading. Repeat after normal engine termination. If a new model fails to fit, check whether the old one actually unloaded. A storage cache file is different from VRAM-resident weights. Change context and KV budget separately, or a longer history or leftover process can be incorrectly blamed on the new checkpoint. Retain ownership evidence with the test result.
A scene also has working data
Cycles CUDA and OptiX have independent system and memory requirements. Run a saved project on the RTX 3080 Ti, verify device selection and inspect the final file. After closing the worker, observe its process state and available memory. Completion using host RAM is another mode rather than proof of local fit. A supporting backend can use RTX hardware tracing, but that does not certify every renderer. Preserve assets separately so a second run cannot read changed textures from an external directory and falsely suggest unstable GPU memory. The project package defines reproducible input.
Hand ownership between applications
The server queue should know which application currently owns the device. A quiet API does not mean a free card if the inference engine stays resident. Admit another render job after confirmed completion or in an explicitly tested coexistence mode. Observe host RAM and file operations: storage may constrain large asset changes. The 350 W figure concerns the reference board and cannot substitute for whole system measurements or constant power in every execution phase. Routine diagnosis needs neither disabled protections nor forced clocks or several installation changes at once. Preserve a controlled comparison before making adjustments.
Keep a task transition log
The artifact associates old and new manifests with unloading events, PID, memory and the following job’s result. If failure disappears after closing the old process, correct queue lifecycle. If it remains on a clean worker, inspect task budget and backend. Asset loading errors belong to the file path. This log explains the RTX 3080 Ti role in sequential LLM and scene processing. It promises neither fit for every nominal 12 GB task nor known TPS or automatic memory partitioning. Comparing an ordinary RTX 3080 needs another controlled experiment rather than a merged model record.
