Both RTX 3060 Ti memory revisions have 8 GB; GDDR6X does not increase capacity, and board power needs its own evidence.
Memory revisions within one profile
NVIDIA lists the RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB GDDR6 and 8 GB GDDR6X. The checked combined source gives 200 W for the original reference design without reliably mapping the revised memory to an exact board’s power. Leave that value unknown rather than zero or a number borrowed from another SKU. The ordinary RTX 3060 has another variant set and does not substitute for Ti. The table concerns memory per GPU. Identify AIB model and memory revision before workload comparison, since an abbreviated name cannot reveal every property of the installed hardware.
| Official variant | Memory per GPU | Memory type | Board power | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti — 8 GB GDDR6 reference | 8 GB | GDDR6 | 200 W | Specification |
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti — 8 GB GDDR6X | 8 GB | GDDR6X | Not verified | Specification |
Confirm the chosen LLM path
vLLM conditions define hardware minimums and environment requirements. Ampere clears that floor while quantization, dtype and kernels need separate acceptance. Pin checkpoint and a bounded request with selected context for the RTX 3060 Ti. After loading, examine KV budget and actual host involvement. llama.cpp CUDA is another path, not automatically equivalent to a serving engine. Hold input and settings constant across GDDR6 and GDDR6X comparisons. Do not derive TPS from memory type or attribute every difference to it before excluding another driver, cache, runtime configuration and competing host processes. Preserve those controls in the experiment.
Package the scene independently
Blender Cycles CUDA and OptiX require a suitable environment and actual device detection. Preserve project, textures, geometry and quality settings on the Ti. Inspect image and logs, including possible host memory use. Both revisions have 8 GB, but matching local fit does not prove equal operation durations. RTX hardware tracing depends on backend support rather than certifying every renderer. For preparation failures, inspect assets and runtime; for out-of-memory, inspect footprint. A different environment’s random project is not a matched memory revision test even when it also opens in Blender without errors. Retain the exact input package.
Complete the missing power field
Before server installation, select the exact AIB specification and verify supply limits, dimensions and cooling. An unknown field is not evidence of low draw. Current power telemetry is not a substitute for a documented board limit either. Account for CPU, RAM and storage separately. Keep each field’s source with environment version in the registry so a catalog update cannot turn an assumption into a fact. GPU or software image changes create another result identity. Accepting normal operation does not require forced clocks or disabled protections. Installation evidence should remain associated with the actual shipping board.
Preserve revision comparison evidence
The package contains both exact identities, sources, matching model and scene manifests, statuses and memory observations. If one board’s revision is unknown, suspend interpretation rather than reconstructing memory type from approximate speed. If identities are established but results differ, examine the relevant phase and software path. The decision concerns tested RTX 3060 Ti configurations rather than every partner board. It promises neither larger model fit from GDDR6X nor universal performance equality or request energy. Its purpose is making parameters and uncertainties explicit for a subsequent reproducible investigation. Keep unresolved fields visible beside successful workload results.
