NVIDIA A2 is assessed here as an exact Ampere board configuration. Its published 16 GB capacity is the starting point for a workload qualification, not a measured serving or rendering result.

## Exact model and memory variants

A2 is a 16 GB GDDR6 Ampere low-profile PCIe Gen4 x8 card with a configurable40–60 W range. Its official datasheet lists10 RT cores.

| Variant | Memory | Published board power | Cooling / format |
|---|---|---|---|
| A2 | 16 GB GDDR6 | 40–60 W | Passive; Low-profile PCIe x8 |

Specifications: [Official product/support documentation](https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/solutions/data-center/a2/pdf/a2-datasheet.pdf).

## LLM backend and memory budget

For16 GB, bound the chosen model context and concurrency. Preserve the configured power mode before comparing runs. A server-accelerator label does not establish universal LLM performance.

Passing the architecture requirement does not certify every model, quantization kernel or prebuilt package.

Compatibility evidence: [vLLM GPU requirements](https://docs.vllm.ai/en/stable/getting_started/installation/gpu/).

## Cycles and batch rendering

The 10 RT cores permit consideration of a supported graphics backend, but do not guarantee scene completion. Cycles requires actual device detection, selected denoising and a complete validated frame.

## Integration into a server or workstation

Record the selected40–60 W configuration, not only the range printed in a catalogue. The passive low-profile board requires chassis airflow and the x8 connection must be identified. Host intake and application settings remain independent qualification fields.

## A concrete qualification scenario

An edge server uses A2 for a bounded local assistant and occasional scene previews. Fix one model/context case, capture the configured board limit, then run a separate reference render. If a second power mode is evaluated, retain it as another record with unchanged input artifacts. This separates configuration effects from changes in weights or scene complexity and avoids converting low nominal wattage into an unmeasured server-efficiency claim.

## The evidence to retain

Keep an ordinary qualification record with the actual test outputs.

Identify the tested variant, software build and execution mode before entering observations. Leave unavailable measurements explicitly unknown.

The fields below separate published specifications from observed allocation and job completion, so a later operator can repeat the same case.

| Evidence field | What this profile must retain |
|---|---|
| Hardware identity | NVIDIA A2; physical variant and reported device identifier |
| Memory boundary | 16 GB published; observed free memory before and after loading |
| Inference artifact | Exact weights digest, quantization, context and offload configuration |
| Render artifact | Scene digest, renderer version, backend and denoising setting |
| System envelope | Driver, container/build digest, enclosure and cooling configuration |
| Completion evidence | Application exit status, output validity and observed memory failures |

A second40–60 W setting is a new configuration case; preserve unchanged inputs before interpreting any difference in completion behavior.
