## Establish the official desktop profile

The desktop RTX 4090 uses Ada Lovelace, 24 GB GDDR6X and reference board power of 450 W. Laptop names identify a separate product, while nonstandard memory modifications do not become official variants in this table. Capacity is per GPU. Comparisons with the RTX 3090 or RTX 5090 help selection but do not replace an inventory of the actual card. This profile has another purpose: validate both an inference stack and a server render worker role. Record board manufacturer, dimensions, available baseline VRAM and the chosen chassis constraints.

| Official variant | Memory per GPU | Memory type | Board power | Evidence |

## Validate the Ada inference configuration

The [vLLM requirements](https://docs.vllm.ai/en/latest/getting_started/installation/gpu/) define minimum compute capability and environment conditions. Ada clears the hardware floor, but particular dtypes, quantization formats and attention implementations need separate acceptance. Pin weights and tokenizer revisions for the RTX 4090, then test one scenario at the selected context. Change concurrency afterward while observing KV cache and memory peaks. A successful short response does not promise the same outcome with long histories. When using [llama.cpp CUDA](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp/master/docs/build.md), retain offload settings separately. Its successful execution does not certify another serving library or prove that the whole computation is GPU resident.

## Accept a Cycles scene

[Blender Cycles](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html) documents CUDA and OptiX with driver and memory requirements. A supporting backend uses RTX hardware tracing, but scene acceptance remains necessary. Check the packed project, original assets, selected device and resulting image on the RTX 4090. Scene preparation can load CPU and RAM, so measure it separately from the GPU phase. Report host memory involvement explicitly. Do not extend Cycles support to every renderer or use gaming FPS as a batch rendering metric. Conclusions concern the recorded quality settings, materials and application release rather than an unrestricted category of scenes.

## Use two cards as independent workers

An understandable initial mode on a multi-RTX 4090 host gives each explicitly assigned device its own queue. Direct inference to one GPU and rendering to another, then measure shared host effects. This does not assume pooled VRAM for one checkpoint. Separation requires correct device identity and process observation. Concurrent jobs still share CPU, RAM, storage and server cooling. The 450 W specification for each reference board is not the complete node power requirement. There is no need to force clocks or disable protections to pass the experiment; inspect normal operation and actual power configuration first.

## Preserve a coexistence matrix

Compare inference alone, rendering alone and both running simultaneously on their assigned GPUs. Preserve manifests, status, memory, host load and actual completion for each job. If isolated runs pass but concurrent runs fail, investigate shared resources and device mapping before changing the model. If only GPU memory is constrained, inspect resident processes on that particular card. This experiment supports queue placement decisions for the RTX 4090. It does not establish automatic tensor parallel pooling, external platform compatibility or known token and frame rates without separately defining and executing those measurements.
