## Identify the original Ada model

The official RTX 4080 has 16 GB GDDR6X and reference board power of 320 W. The RTX 4080 SUPER is another model despite belonging to the same capacity class. Preserve the exact name in inventory. The table concerns memory per GPU rather than the remainder available to applications. Start an existing board assessment by recording idle VRAM and background processes. This supports studying LLM and scene startup without assuming that every delay is determined only by GPU computation or the number in a product name. Actual runtime observations remain distinct from nominal capacity.

## LLM readiness includes loading and a request

Match [vLLM installation conditions](https://docs.vllm.ai/en/latest/getting_started/installation/gpu/) to driver, build and selected model. Ada hardware eligibility does not establish support for every kernel or quantization. Mark process startup, weight reading, initialization completion and a successful bounded request on the RTX 4080. Do not combine them into a single GPU computation interval. If an initial launch is slow but later launches improve, investigate model caching and warmup. Observe KV budget and maximum memory separately for the selected context. Having 16 GB does not promise equal readiness across engine releases or arbitrary checkpoint fit.

## Rendering has its own preparation phases

[Blender Cycles](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html) describes CUDA and OptiX with their requirements. Save the RTX 4080 project and external assets, then mark file reading, scene preparation and completed image. If the CPU spends time preparing geometry, that delay is not evidence of slow RT Cores. Check GPU selection and host RAM use independently. A successful backend test does not certify another renderer. Server jobs also need complete output and a project that reproduces after restart, rather than merely a Blender interface that opens without an error. Preserve phase boundaries so later regressions can be located.

## Keep cache conditions explicit

Record storage path, RAM, engine image and board identity. Compare launches with consistently described cache states rather than clearing caches on an operating host to create a convenient experiment. Use a controlled environment for that investigation. Models and scene assets can contend for storage even when GPU jobs execute sequentially. A 320 W specification does not establish actual power during file reading. Check supply and cooling against the AIB board and chassis, while measuring whole node consumption separately from one device's telemetry. These observations help avoid attributing every startup change to the graphics card.

## Create a worker readiness record

The artifact contains cold/warm launch timelines, LLM and scene manifests, versions and RAM/VRAM peaks. If only file reading slows, inspect storage and caching; if only initialization changes, inspect runtime and preparation. If both jobs fail after loading, investigate available memory and selected backends. The decision defines admissible startup conditions for the original RTX 4080. It does not establish a universal cold-start delay, promise parity with SUPER or turn a successful small test into evidence of constant service availability under arbitrary traffic and node restarts. Retain the tested boundary with the readiness result.
