A GPU-server report often contains one speed figure and a photograph. Owners and funders need more: what was tested, under which conditions and what state is accepted for further work.

Acceptance is not a utilization promise. It confirms bounded observations about a machine and operation, enabling a pilot without turning one result into a universal server characteristic.

## Fix the subject of acceptance

Record hardware, software versions, model and weight format, launch settings and context bounds. Show different configurations separately rather than combining their best results into one figure.

Distinguish as-received state from agreed modifications. When an existing node is rented, the owner needs to know what must be restored afterwards, including components and settings rather than only the model files.

## Separate diagnostics and service tests

Hardware diagnostics check particular execution paths; API tests check a service handling requests. Neither substitutes for the other. A healthy GPU can still be constrained by network or unsuitable software.

[NVIDIA DCGM Diagnostics](https://docs.nvidia.com/datacenter/dcgm/latest/learn/modules/dcgm-diagnostics.html) documents active checks whose availability depends on device and environment. Record the selected check, result and skips. A test not performed must not be reported as passed.

## Preserve the workload profile

Include input and output lengths, concurrency, warmup and error rate. Identify common-prefix use. Without these conditions, another specialist can obtain different results on the same machine.

Use [vLLM metrics](https://docs.vllm.ai/en/stable/usage/metrics/) appropriate to the installed version for service observation. Do not equate one request's speed with aggregate output across several requests. Preserve both where relevant, with explicit measurement boundaries.

## Verify return to operation

Within an agreed window, measure recovery after ordinary restart: model loading, API readiness and persistence of required settings. Put scenarios affecting the owner's active tasks into the work plan first.

A useful result might state: configuration reproducible, short requests checked, long context not yet accepted, restoration requires a manual step. It identifies the next work even before continuous operation is approved. Add checked, unchecked and repeat-required statuses, evidence links and owners. Parties should not confuse no reported issue with no test performed, and another specialist should be able to continue without relying on spoken agreements.

## End with a decision

State what is accepted, remaining limitations and who agrees remediation. List retained access and changes separately. Clarify whether the document supports a pilot or only completes initial assessment.
