# AMD Instinct MI430X: LLM inference and server rendering boundaries

AMD Instinct MI430X: AMD describes MI430X as planned for 2027 and publishes 432 GB HBM4. This is a roadmap profile, not a currently validated removable GPU recommendation.

## State the 2027 roadmap status first

The checked AMD CDNA page explicitly places MI430X in a plan for 2027. Its MI400 family material publishes 432 GB HBM4 for the design. As of the review date, this profile should therefore be read as planning information rather than evidence of current installed capacity. A roadmap can help explain an architecture direction, but it does not establish purchasing availability, delivery commitments or a tested provider endpoint. Keep the date and status visible whenever the capacity is repeated in comparisons.

| Variant | Local memory, GB | Memory type | Published board power, W |
|---|---|---|---|
| MI430X planned 2027 | 432 | HBM4 | Not verified |

The product or OEM specification establishes the configuration: [manufacturer source](https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/cdna.html).

## Leave present-day engine certification unresolved

No roadmap name can certify a package that has not been tested on the actual platform. When a system becomes available for assessment, consult the current ROCm matrix and framework release notes for its exact device and operating environment. Validate the intended model, numerical format and kernel route rather than assuming support from MI300 or MI350 examples. Preserve the software versions and correctness evidence. Until then, the existence of an AMD product page is not proof that an arbitrary current inference binary recognises MI430X.

The software boundary is documented in the [inference compatibility reference](https://rocm.docs.amd.com/en/latest/compatibility/compatibility-matrix.html).

## Use a future memory budget without a speed promise

The published 432 GB figure is useful for understanding design scale, not for predicting a service result. Runtime workspaces, model weights and request caches will still need a measured allocation strategy. System and interconnect design will affect distributed execution. Do not extrapolate tokens per second, scene completion time or income from HBM4 capacity or theoretical bandwidth. A meaningful future comparison needs the same checkpoint, request lengths, concurrency and latency objective on real qualified systems, together with errors and resource usage.

## Do not confuse CDNA roadmap with current HIP graphics

MI430X is described in the Instinct CDNA compute roadmap. The current Blender Cycles HIP hardware baseline is RDNA, so this guide does not claim MI430X as a supported current Cycles rendering device. A later renderer release or a specialised compute rendering engine could have different requirements, but that would need new primary evidence and an actual scene test. Neither an LLM software announcement nor a large memory specification confirms graphics features, material support or image correctness for a future architecture.

Renderer requirements are separate in the [Cycles GPU manual](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html).

## Maintain a dated planning record

A responsible planning record separates vendor-published specifications, an announced timeline, verified supplier availability and completed workload acceptance. Update each field only when matching evidence exists, retaining the original review date. Compare MI430X with current accelerators as different readiness categories rather than ranking them by an invented performance score. This catalogue entry does not claim MI430X deployment at Retrivium or an external marketplace listing. It explains why future platform information can be relevant to infrastructure planning while remaining distinct from equipment that has already passed operational tests.
